A colleague who came in to work yesterday and so did a few of us to get work to bring home, his son got tested today for the virus. Waiting for the results. I am very nervous about it.

Are ypu people stupid or what? On average 12,000 Americans die every year from the flu. So what makes this one so special? Let me guess. Trumps President, right?

I worked in a retail store back then during the swine flu and don't recall anything like what's happening now. If people were stocking up more it wasnt noticeable to me. Now it's insane

I used to think as LiveInGreenBay a couple of weeks ago. But, as time went on and I learned more, it started to get scary. And, you have to look at the numbers over the same time line to compare.

Even with the precautions taken, the Corona virus is far worse than the Flu, or other Pandemics in recent history. The rate of transmission is much higher, the mortality rate is twice that of regular flu strains across all ages. Yes, MOST people will recover. But this will take a large toll on people with existing health conditions and the elderly. It will affect EVERYONE!!!

12,000 /year Flu

5,000/ 1/4 year...the math will be exponential...after 1 year, it is estimated 40,000 - 60,000 could die from this. And that is low...if precautions are not taken, it could double every 2 weeks if 1 person infects 2, every two weeks.

You make it very clear who the stupid one is. The only relevance of Trump being president is the cuts he made to the CDC, what used to be in place to deal with this sort of thing, and his response once it actually started.

If you pull your head out of his ass maybe you'll notice that after spending a few weeks telling us that it's nothing to worry about, “We’re going to be pretty soon at only five people. And we could be at just one or two people over the next short period of time." and “No, I’m not concerned at all. No, I’m not." he forgot about all the video and told us “This is a pandemic. I felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic.”

So, in case you're unclear about what's going on, Trump wants you to recognize that it's a Pandemic.

And now I'm going out to see if it's still possible to buy lottery tickets.

I've heard that the Earth is flat, too.

There's been a single test of Hydroxychloroquine alone and in combination with azithromycin. The results are optimistic, and perhaps you've heard Trump telling people it will be available almost immediately. Like his other claims about how things were getting better when they were getting worse he's not exactly in touch with reality. The experts who actually understand what's going on are looking at a much longer time frame. And the experts aren't saying it's acure.

But don't let getting inaccurate information stop you from being certain that the flu is a much bigger problem.
