Let's create more flow = a fun, challenging and rewarding experience.
Gamification is the process of taking something that already exists – a website, an enterprise application, an online community – and integrating game mechanics into it to motivate participation, engagement, and loyalty. (I'm too scared to include links to sources where I'm getting information from because I might get banned or something.)
This is about about mastering how to predict the pick 3 lottery and increasing member engagement.
Ultimately, all I would like to see is a more fun way for predictors to learn how to improve their accuracy.
There are two main types of members here. Members who come here to play the combos posted by their favorite predictors and members who create strategies and then post their predictions. When predictors are able to analyze different types of stats it helps them to improve the accuracy rate of their strategies. Higher accuracy leads to everyone making more profit.
Of course, both types of members get discouraged because they may be losing more than they win over time and eventually just give up. One way that I think will keep members motivated is if we had a predictions board that displayed more types of stats than what is currently displayed.
We should be able to determine who the most accurate and profitable predictors are. These changes are meant to be able learn from our stats in the most fun, challenging and rewarding way. Yeah we need to be as realistic as possible, however, we also need to have more room to challenge our imagination and creativity when developing strategies in the most organized way possible.
We can either add to the current predictions board or create another predictions board for predictors who want to participate in the Pick 3 Lottery League. Depending on how many members are regularly participating, having just one person keep track of everyone's stats for the day/week/month/year can be nerve wrecking. Someone would have to go through all predictions to verify it was valid and posted before the drawings among other duties. This is why I suggest that we ask/petition lottery Post to make a new top predictors board or at least add some of these changes to it. For any one member to keep track of all of this would be just too overwhelming.
The parameters for the current prediction board now are based on your membership level.
- Standard (free): 10 tickets/lines per drawing
- Gold : 25 tickets/lines per drawing
- Platinum : 50 tickets/lines per drawing
We can make changes here to allow predictors to enter as many combos as they want. It only makes sense to keep your number of combos as low as possible so you can make the most profit possible. Since there are only 1000 exact order possible combos then the maximum amount of combos that we can post should be 899. Since there are only 220 box combos, the max combos allowed to post should be 149. You have to keep in mind that you if go bust (over your budget) the game ends for you.
We need to have the option to play in Exact, Any and Exact/Any order.
*The cost play per combo on the current predictions board is $1. (Correct me if I'm wrong but that's what it looks like.) At this time, the top pick 3 predictor is Gopher07. Gopher07 has made 1,480 picks and the wager is $1,480. That to me looks like $1 per combo/pick.
*The winnings for an Any order hit = $40. The winnings for a Exact order hit = $250.
This is about learning how to master the game better. In order to do that in the most fun, challenging and rewarding way we need flexible parameters to practice at different skill levels. All we really care about is how much profit we can make. The profit and ultimately your skill level depends on the cost per combo and your budget. Let's make it so that the predictor can choose the price per combo so they can practice at different skills levels. We have to make things challenging but not too challenging that people just give up for lack of a rewarding experience. We need to celebrate even small progress. This is especially needed to for beginners because the less your combos cost the more combos you can use in your predictions which can lead to a more rewarding experience and a stronger motivation to keep practicing.
We're coloring outside of the lines here which is the point.
Possible prediction board options for skill level: Beginner
Budget: $1 - $2,000
Cost per combo: 25 cents
Winnings: Any Order hit = $37.50, Exact Order hit = 225, Exact/Any order hit = $37.50 + $225 ($262.50)
Once you've learned how to improve your accuracy at .25 cents per combo then you can choose a high difficulty level.
Possible prediction board options for skill level: Intermediate
Budget: $1 - $2,000
Cost per combo: 50 cents
Winnings: Any Order hit = $40, Exact Order hit = 250, Exact/Any order hit = $40 + $250 ($290)
Now that you have practiced as a beginner and intermediate you can then move up to the big leagues as an experienced predictor.
Possible prediction board options for skill level: Genius
(There's no way around it. If you can consistently make a profit with these parameters then that's exactly what you are; a genius)
Budget: $1 - $2,000
Cost per combo: $1
Winnings: Any Order hit = $40, Exact Order hit = 250, Exact/Any order hit = $40 + $250 ($290)
In order to become better predictors we have to make detailed predictions because it forces you to be accurate in order to make a profit.
-We need to know the exact state(s) and drawing(s) that are included in your prediction.
-People want to know when the forecast begins and ends.
If you don't know this stuff already, you gon' learn today.
Most predictors never consistently win on the first drawing. To win on a regular basis it usually takes playing the same combos for a predetermined number of drawings within your budget. The longer it takes to win, the less profit you'll end up with due the fine law diminishing returns. I know this seems like common sense for some, however, even the best of us need to keep in mind how to minimize losses with a good system in place. The best way to keep your Return On Investment as high as possible is to use something like the Martingale Betting system. If you are not familiar with the Martingale Betting strategy then you truly are a rookie/beginner, which is ok. We all have to start somewhere. I advise you to go research what it is because it answers the question, how do you recoup your losses? The reason why you lose more than you win over time is because of your cumulative cost that adds up until you win.
Here's an example of the martingale betting strategy for the beginners level playing 50 combos.
As you can see from the chart below, you have more chances to win and still make a profit. This is great for beginners to have fun and stay motivated while they practice creating better strategies. With a maximum $2,000 budget you can play up to 7 drawings and still make a profit. The whole point of this is to practice predicting within a range of drawings within your budget until you get accurate enough to win using fewer drawings and/or less combos in your forecast.

Here's an example of the martingale betting strategy for the Intermediate level playing 50 combos.
As you can see the cumulative cost increases until you win. You are forced to significantly improve your accuracy and reduce the amount of combos in your forecast before you can be as profitable as you want to be at this level. There is very little room for error. Even with a maximum $2,000 budget, you have to win within only 2 drawings in order to make a profit. How much did you spend before you won? Are you in the black or the red at the end of the day/week/month? Playing >50 combos for 3 consecutive drawings is not a profitable strategy at 50 cents per combo.

Here's an example of the martingale betting strategy for the Genius level playing 50 combos.
This is exactly what the current Top Predictors board on Lottery Post is exceptI'm showing you the ROI which is the Profit divided by the Cost and the LotteryPost Top Predictors board shows you the Prize Ratio which is the Winnings divided by the Cost/Wager.
There's no way you can make a profit playing 50 combos at $1 per combo. I say this is the genius level because the only way to make a profit at this level is to significantly reduce the number of combos. This is awesome because you have no choice but to master how to be accurate with less combos which is what every great predictor strives to do.

According to the Top Predictors board, a member with 100% prize ratio just means they were able to break even. For example, it'll cost you $40 to use 40 picks. If you win then you'll win $40 which means you'll break even and your Prize Ratio will be 100% because you got 100% of your money back.
Ok now to recap.
We have to learn how to be more profitable as predictors by being more accurate predictors. The best way to be more accurate is to gain insight from your stats as you test your strategy over time. Once we have more statistical insight floating around here, then there will be more members making a profit here, which will draw in new members to grow our community.
I don't feel that running a game in the forums is the most organized, fun, challenging and rewarding way to go about things. This isn't just about starting a league. Like I said in the beginning of this ridiculously long post, this about creating a better way to have fun while we master the game.
Making these changes will make it easier to learn from our stats and practice creating more accurate strategies.
- Unless someone wants to volunteer to keep track of everyone's stats then it'll be best to ask/petition Lottery Post to consider creating a new prediction board or adding to the existing one.
- In an effort to make learning how to be more accurate predictor more fun, challenging and reward the options for the prediction board should include...
a. the option to play in exact order, any order and exact/any order.
b. the option to post up to 899 exact order combos and 149 any order combos.
c. the option to play at .25 cents, .50 cents and for $1 per combo.
d. the option to post for more than 7 consecutive drawings.
e. the Top Predictors board should also include the Profit, ROI and maybe the account balance of each participating predictor.
And that's it.
If you see any corrections that need to be made then feel free to let me know.

Return On Investment (ROI) = The ratio be the profit and cost. Profit divided by the cost
Diminishing returns = Basically, the more input/combos you play for each drawing until you win the lower your ROI gets.
