Also not a scratch ticket result but a good one just the same.
Atlantic City trip this week. Monday thru yesterday. Stayed at the Atlantic Club. The old Hilton. This place has gone back to the way it used to be. BEFORE all the other states opened their own casinos and cut into AC's revenue.
We have been going to casinos for over 20 years and saw first hand the great times you used to have and the lousy trips of the past few years. All due to the big corp takeovers of the gaming industry. Corporations that have no idea how to keep customers coming back. Well, this outfit has gone back to the way it used to be.
They advertise they have the best paying slots on the boardwalk. Well, as I said, I know what it has been like for the last few years. This trip, and the last one for that matter, have been very different. In a good way.
You slot players know what it is like to spend $20 after $20 in a machine or machines and get crap. You can lose $400-$500 in an hour. Been there done that. This place actually lets you win.
I started playing Monday around 3:00 pm. By Tuesday afternoon I was down $800. Probably played 7 hours on Mon. and 5 hours on Tues.
Tuesday night, and EVERY night the rest of the week, things were the opposite. Anytime after 7:00pm they started hitting.
Had $200 in a $1 two coin Quick Hit machine. Hit the mini $1036. Minutes later I walked around to the other side of that bank and dropped a $20 in that same style machine. Mini on the third spin. $1016
Wed. night my wife plays a one cent Monopoly machine for the max $3.00 bet and after about $40 the thing goes nuts. Every bonus you can hit on this POS and it stops paying at $1276
Meanwhile I'm walking around and hitting 4 or 5 out of every 10 machines I pick. Not the jackpots, but anywhere from $50 to $360 on the bonus spins. I turn a $100 bill into a $769 voucher.
Thursday night. My wife plays a three coin, Double Diamond, $5.00 machine. One coin hit. All Double Diamond symbols on the line. 800 credits. $4000.00
That's $8097 in four hand pays or voucher cash ins. Not counting all the smaller ones. The trip there last year was almost as good.
Here is the answer for all you slot players that ask the standard question.
Out of that $8097 we brought over $6700 back with us.
AND, since we have been following the same slot host around from casino to casino for the last 20 years ,everything, room, food, and beverage, is already comped.
The point to this is. Think off ALL the money you have given to your state in scratch off tickets over the last year. Take that money to your casino and at least have a fighting chance to win something back.
