Nice wins Matt !!
I gave in and bought 150 tickets of $20 LFL for 3 grand. I was saving money for a 1 day scratch fest. 1 entire roll and 100 random tickets from 3 stores.
Well it was a mistake i must of got the worst tickets out there
3x $100
7x $50
2x $40
15x $30
9x $25
12x $20
So I got back $1,645 what to do now ..............
Ouch! Wow that is a bummer for that amount of tickets. Not abysmal, but below game odds.
Yeah, I'd take a breather and do spread out light scratch play and casino games for a while, let the wins come to you.

I thought of this thread when I read this article in my newspaper today...so I thought I would post it for you all...this person is right in my area I don't know them or know if they are even on lottery post but here is his comment on the Lottery..
The Pennsylvania Lottery is taking advantage of the people of Pennsylvania. As a supporter when the lottery first came out in 1972, I thought it would help the people and I have played the lottery all these years..
I remember when the lottery grand prize was $50,000. I worked in the Pennsylvania liquor store and wrote up one of the winning tickets.
As the years went on the lottery just got bigger and bigger, which brings us up to the present time.
The lottery is making a lot of money, but I don't think it's going to the people it is supposed to be helping. True, the prizes are much bigger, but the odds are still the same-----one in a million.
Everyone plays----young and old-----because they think they are going to be the next millionaire. Well, good luck because you will need it.
With inflation, the lottery makes it even harder to hit to make up for it..
I could go on and on and even write a book as to why you should not play the lottery.
Anyways, I will get right to the point. I recently bought the new $2 tickets. In fact, I bought $50 worth----that's 25 tickets---in consecutive numbers. Out of the 25 tickets I had one winner, it was for a FREE TICKET...
Boy, how lucky can you get since the lottery advertises your odds of winning and much better.

Thank you for posting that article Dee! That is very interesting, coming from someone who was there from the start of things in 1972.
Some people would say, if you don't like it, don't play. That statement is simple and to the point but the reality is with the amount of advertising
done for all the games, the ease of purchase, the possibility of becoming a Millionaire or close to it in 'an instant', the relatively small cost to take
a chance at a few thousand or even few hundred, this phenomenon is out of control and suits state lotteries just fine. They are rolling in the dough.
Ticket prices climbed, instant vending machines are all over the place - so are terminals, poster boards saying: 'Play here, we pay here' are every-
where too.....Make it easy as possible to play and more people are going to play...Keep reminding them their lives can change in the blink of an
eye and you draw more interest, more hope and more money....use more games, offer second chance drawings, offer non-cash prizes - cars, motor-
cycles, candy, gift certificates..blah, blah, blah....and they have become an out of control GIANT.
The prizes are out there but the big ones are like a needle in a haystack....6 - 7 million tickets printed with 3 top prizes is a horrible ratio...to
even things out they insert many lower tier prizes to appease the masses. Trouble is everyone's got their eyes on the Top Prizes. Everyone that
buys a ticket sees: THREE TOP PRIZES OF ONE MILLION DOLLARS!!!!
It's nice to dream but it needs to be kept in check. This guy seemed to realize the change and it moved him to write. Many people on this thread
see the changes and they cut down or quit for awhile. A lot of people here see what's going on...tickets upon tickets being released...It seems they
are constantly preying on the ever present I WANT IT NOW mindset a lot of people have and instant tickets with promises of riches haven't helped
most players get what they're looking for....What it did do was help the state lotteries pocket and awful lot of money and make what might have
been fair and decent games in 1972, a money making monster where there is no looking back. There are an awful lot of hands being rubbed to-
gether watching the money roll in at Lottery Headquarter's around the country, too bad the only thing most players are rubbing their hands together
for is to remove the instant ticket latex from another losing ticket. They need to get back to the days where it was fair and a pleasure to play. Funny
thing is, it's not going to happen.
I can relate to how some people feel, I've seen a marked change in payouts...some people get more frustrated than others. I just like to play,
it's a game...sometimes it's a real joke too but you just have to keep making sure the joke isn't on you. Keep it real and play what you can - don't
get lost in Top Prize la-la-land.
Don't go chasing Top Prizes...if you happen upon one Yippeee!!! But this MONSTER has to be kept in perspective. I contribute daily to these
games because I like to play them. I'm not going to quit, I'm not going to close my eyes either to what I read here and see here. A lot of people
are upset and rightly so.

Great post, dr! One good day isn't going to change my opinion. I'm still going slowly. It's going to take the days of old when the $100s were rolling in. I posted how I bought $40 of $2 tickets and got one free ticket. The guy in the letter did even worse. In the roll I got, I had 9 and 10 losers in a row. The odds evened out, but pretty misleading when there are that many bad zones out there. It's good that people are speaking out (I haven't had an answer to my e-mail, BTW,) but I'm not sure what will have any effect. I saw the new games on the website, and ho-hum. Another Bingo and 10x the Money redone. The $10 game has a lower top prize than the usual $250,000. Odds on every new game are no better than they have been.

Thanks, dr65! I hadn't won $100 on a $10 game in so long. Maybe that little break and then going slowly was what I needed. Hope you are doing well, too.
You are welcome Matt! I think that was a good move because you came out fighting lol! WTG! and keep it up. My plan has been for the past couple
weeks to try out the $1 and $2 tickets in bunches. Sometimes, I swear they do better than any $20 or $10 and especially $5 that I might have chosen
instead.
Trying the 5 - 20 at a time in the smaller denominations has won amounts of $100, $80, $50, $20...those amounts are of late, way better than I
could hope to wind up with playing $20's and $10's. I think the cycle turned and now maybe the good ones are hitting your area!! That would
be great news because I sure had my share of $100's and up on those $20's and it is true, I can play more, but I was still LUCKY
The favorite store continues to be THE place to go. Have you found a store yet that does much better than the others? If not keep searching because
I think there are one of those out there for everyone. I noticed for the most part the change in the $20's in my area paying out $50's when it used to
be $100's. With the lottery clerk scratching a $2,000 winner from the Dice Doubler it just perked my interest in just actually how good the $1's and
$2's could be, normally, I'd stay away from them for the most part but have found in my little experiment that buying stretches at a time will wind
up yielding decent winners of $20, $50 and even $100's. The one out at Giant was the Whole Lotta $100's winning $100! So that game plan still
works too.
Good luck today and I hope someone finds a super ticket!!

I tend to go by feelings about the number ranges on the $2 tickets. Randomly playing them can get you a lot of losers. Best on Electric 8s seem to be the 40s and 80s. On Whole Lotta Hundreds, I've gotten some $20s in the last 10, the 120s, and 10-20. I've still only had 2 $100s on that game. What was the number of your last $100 winner on Whole Lotta Hundreds? Do I have a special store? Not really. I'd say the beer store has had the most profits, but it hasn't been exceptional. Giant has been pretty good lately, but normally fair. Wegmans and Wawa have been lousy. Got 2 Birthday Cashes from Wawa (#058 and #059) last night, and both lost. I enjoy buying the smaller priced tickets more often because you get more play. And I'll try the $10s and $20s occasionally just to have a shot at a bigger prize.

Ah Hi Matt! We crossed lines...I was writing and submitting, came back to see you responded! I can agree with your statement about taking a few
of the good old days where $100's were rolling in..but your recent wins sure brought a smile to my face and I was super happy to see them! A
return to the old days might restore some faith in the "Giant"...right now, I think they are on quite a few players poo lists.
wow..so much for me adding that the $2 tickets might be the way to go instead of the $20 awhile back. Sorry to see such results but I still have to
say, that's been giving better than a $20 here and there and 4 x $5 tickets especially..they STINK!!! I have Mustang entries and no car lol...j/k...
entries but little winnings from those tickets. I never really did like the second chance tickets, I think they compensate for the drawing prizes by
giving little winners. (always suspicious/yet constant scratching dr...)
OHHHH NOOOOOO......Not NEW ONES AGAIN!! I didn't even look....going over RIGHT NOW to check it out. I didn't think of the new ones, I was too
busy with the 'old' ones. omg lol!

I'm sorry Matt I get busy over in the pick 3 and diving into that, I sometimes don't get over here to post or put up pics or even post my ticket
numbers - The Whole Lotta $100's..the last $100 winner on that one was ticket # 104..it matched 5 numbers for $20 each total $100. But
recently too I found a win $100 symbol on one and that was at Giant..that ticket number I forget I turned it in and didn't
I got an All that Glitters ticket #144 with a diamond symbol and under it was $100..I thought no way...(I can't remember if I mentioned this
one already but if so, sorry to repeat)
I'll put the pictures up on the photo thread later on today.

This is a good post Dee..........the lesson to be learned is to not assume that buying alot of tickets will produce a big winner.
Now in this case I would have bought at least 5 more tickets if I only got a free ticket out of 25 tickets........................the reason is there is a general computer code where there is no more than 2.5 X the odds on the back of the ticket worth of losers in a row....................so if someone bought 25 two dollar games it is statistically possible on some of those games to win only once if the winner was in the middle of that series. The 2.5X rule is not etched in stone but usually works with most books. I don't recommend buying that many consecutive tickets to begin with............but in that case I would have probably bought the next couple after the 25.
Chances are there was a decent prize hit right before this guy bought or something was brewing right after that streak.
Sidenote: Don't be fooled if you win face value on a ticket...............sometimes the big prize or grand prize is right after a face value win.
Big Wins For All!

Hmm, James that's a good question: What to do? Considering your play-style, I think I'd go all out with what I had left and hit the road to as many
different stores as I could..I'd use the up to 2 - $20 ticket method and see if that got me anywhere.
I don't play like you do, I don't buy packs but if I got results like you did and played like you did, I think I might stay away from a pack for now and
do the couple here, couple there. I do see you got 100 random tickets from 3 stores, but I'd fan out even more.
Whatever you decide, good luck!! I hope there is a good one in store for you!!

I'll be anxious to see your wins! I'll probably try the beer store later for about $30-40. No more than that. To you, what is the best $2 ticket right now?

Hmm..it has to be a tie between the Whole Lotta $100's and the Electric 8's. The All that Glitters is not a bad ticket either. This is not based on just
recent wins, I think overall, for win factor..those are the ones that are giving at least $4 and $5 wins..well, there's the FREE ticket infection to consider
but still at some places, that's like winning $2. They will give the cash to try something else. I noticed Giant gives you another ticket of their choice.
Pffttt, I don't want a Treasure Hunt or some ancient thing that's been sitting there in the counter drawer collecting dust because they want to stock the
machine with the new ones.
But that's not what you asked lmao! Ok the best ONE $2 ticket = Electric 8's.
I say that because I've won $40 3 times (wow, not a lot) on one match and numerous $2 amounts on 2 matches and I've found Electric symbols
often enough to think that they aren't too rare or hard to come by...the usual amounts are $2 but winning all amounts even by $2 adds up. I've seen
blue 8's in the game but not anywhere near the amount of times I've seen ELECTRIC symbols. Often times you find 4 winning lines of a cheesy $1.00
each but still if getting your money back and at least some wins is acceptable, it's much better than tossing a $20 away on one ticket and having it
lose. There is the chance you come up empty on 10 $2's - someone might have hit for $80 and the next 40 will be nothing to write home about.
But there are a lot of winners although most times smaller, on the Electrics close together and if you find a $2 it's not unusual to find a $40 a couple
tickets later. I've also had 2 tickets win $80 and that's not bad at all for a $2 ticket..sometimes you won't even see that on a $10 or $20.
One thing...the Pure Gold are very, very decent tickets for $1 in purchases of 20 or more at a time. I remember the days of seeing people come in
and play the $1 tickets - quite a few plunked $60 in the machine and got three types of $1 tickets and left. I thought, wow how boring. But the
absolute BEST $1 ticket is those. Plenty of 5 bar wins, 2 bar wins and 3 bar wins....amounts of $50, $10, $5...of course the infamous FREE to deal
with but these I LIKE!!

Thanks, dr! Maybe I'll try Electric 8s most since I haven't had much luck on Whole Lotta Hundreds where I am. Electric 8s at least gives $2 with every win. Whole Lotta seems in a $20 run here and not $100. Good luck today!
-
See, today wasn't good at all. $4 total. 2 Pure Golds went back to losing. That's why I haven't changed my opinion of the PA Lottery. Tomorrow I'll try only $2 tickets and save for the new ones on Mon/Tue.
I had to spend most at Wawa, so that's another reason for the losing. I've never seen a place so bad.
-
Here is a better than average example I had today from my method of buying wide and far.
I usually play only 1 game at a time, 4 tickets of a $5 game usually, just above game odds. Today it is Red Hot 7's. Results:
Stopped at 2 stores downtown:
$10 $10 $0 $0
$0 $6 $0 $10
At gas station:
$0 $5 $100 $0
Then grocery store:
$0 $0 $0 $0
Yeah, I get all losers every once in a while from 4 tickets, but not often. Overall $80 spent and $141 returned, net positive today.
