Let's face it.... we all like to catch a quad now and then!! The payout is pretty sweet. I've been looking at quads recently to determine if there is some sort of pattern to their "fall-hood" lol As most of you know, there are 90 quads (boxed). Let's take a look at the various classifications of quads, as it makes it a little easier to break them down and track skips and patters:
THE EVEN QUAD: There are 20 of these bad boys..... ex. 0002, 0004, 0006....etc.
THE ODD QUAD (Hey, that rhymes!) Also 20..... ex. 1113, 1115, 1117....etc.
The OOOE and EEEO QUADS: Pretty much makes up the rest of them.... 50 in all.
Now here lies the patterns.... by breaking down the later set even further to what I call the "series" quads, there appears to be a very strong relationship among these. First let me explain what I mean by series quads.... "How can you get a series number from a quad" you ask? Quite simply a one up or one down from the triple number. For example... 4445 5556 6667...etc. There are also 20 of these triples.
Now looking back over the past year...all states... I've discovered a pattern that is really cool, but first let me explain the "anatomy" of the series quad. Looking at a given series quad (e.g. 3334) take the mate, and one up (or one down) of that number. So for 3334, the mate is 3444. The one down for this number would be 3332.
That being said (you still with me??!!!), looking back at the past year, when a series triple falls, VERY shortly, either the number repeats, or you see either the mate or the one up (one down) number.
Let me give some recent examples:
(one up)
16-Sep Eve: DE had 7776
18-Sep Mid: IL had 7877
(one down)
02-Jul Eve: OR had 8889
04-Jul Mid: CT had 8878
(Repeat - duh!)
14-Sep Mid: IL had 3332
18-Sep Eve: WV had 3323
(Mate)
17-Aug Eve: KY had 2111
29-Aug Eve: CT had 2212
14-Sep Mid: DC had 1121
This post wound up being MUCH more involved than I had anticipated, but I hope you get the idea. There are countless examples that have occurred during the past year. If you have a Gold or Platinum Membership, you can search for other examples. Well, I hope this helps someone catch a trip.... best of luck to everyone!!!!
