I managed to match three numbers last night. Unfortunately, none of them was on the same line. I played my usual $5 ticket and had one number on each of those five lines. I caught the 10 on the first line, the 11 on the second and third lines, and I had the 48 on the fourth and fifth lines.
None of my five different red PowerBall numbers matched the 16. Actually, I think I've had better results in the past by just going with the same red PowerBall number on all of my lines. I might make that slight change in my present strategy on Wednesday since the red PowerBall matrix didn't change. Right now, I'm thinking that the 7, 13, 16, 17, 19, 22, 29, 30, 32, 34, and 42 look like the best candidates.
At any rate, I'm now $20 in the hole and I haven't cashed a single ticket of any kind since the game changed. I guess I'd better put my hopes in that bolt of luck from out of the blue suddenly scoring a giant jackpot win for me.
In looking at the first four draws under the new format, I have noticed a couple of things which may or may not be useful in picking numbers.
Draw Date WB1 WB2 WB3 WB4 WB5 PB
09/10/2005 10 11 08 48 50 16
09/07/2005 32 50 12 40 54 37
09/03/2005 30 03 31 01 43 36
08/31/2005 17 19 13 50 41 13

The number 50 has shown up three times in these first four drawings and it's the only number that has repeated so far. You've got to admit that's a little lopsided.

The number 17 remains a clear leader in being the first ball out. That's something that I noticed in looking at the data since the previous game change back in 2002.
I see a couple of other interesting things about those draw numbers, but I don't find them to be very useful in making number selections. Has anyone else noticed anything in these draws that might be helpful in picking numbers? Conventional wisdom says that we need more draw history before we can reach any meaningful conclusions, but it's a lot easier to look at the numbers when there aren't so many of them. We just might be able to cash in on some of our observations if we watch as the history for this new format unfolds draw by draw.
Well, that's the way I'm seeing things at this juncture. I'd be glad to hear anyone else's results and conclusions about the way the game is playing out under the new format.
Better luck,
