2 Oklahoma lottery pools win big
Both are in the Tulsa area: Quality Plating workers get $10,000, and Cost-O-Fab employees rake in $200,000.
Two winning lottery tickets were redeemed Wednesday with the winnings going to employees at two Tulsa-area businesses, according to the Oklahoma Lottery.
Eleven employees at Cost-O-Fab, a Broken Arrow heat exchanger shop, claimed their $200,000 prize at Oklahoma Lottery headquarters. The group matched five numbers but missed the Powerball.

Okla. Lottery Commission struggles to meet its 35% profit requirement
As a result of the finance and audit committee's dreary budget forecasts for fiscal year 2008, the Oklahoma Lottery Commission is planning to trim costs and attempt to get a key statutory requirement of the commission eliminated.
The board plans to try to amend out a requirement that the Lottery Commission post a 35-percent profit in their third year of operations.
The board said they are doing all they can to trim operating costs without cutting current staff and advertising expenditures,

Oklahoma lottery winner says yes to TV; no to marriage proposals
Good Morning America, the ABC television morning news show, is looking for lottery winner Nita Jacobs of Sallisaw.
Jacobs was the winner Aug. 25 of $600,009 in the Powerball lottery. She won by choosing her numbers off football players' jerseys. Apparently because of her unusual manner of selecting numbers, Good Morning America hopes to present her story to the entire country.
The Good Morning America representative contacted a local paper Thursday, hoping to find Jacobs.

Education funding doesn't see expected boon; officials cite low prize payouts as root cause

Oklahoma Lottery to add Hot Lotto, TV show
The Oklahoma Lottery plans to start a television game show and offer an additional multi-state game in hopes of improving lower-than-expected revenues.
The new television game show would be filmed in Oklahoma City and begin airing in October. Next year, Oklahoma would join ten other states in offering the Hot Lotto game, which features a minimum jackpot of $1 million.

The head of Oklahoma's Republican Party, citing lower-than-expected revenue and escalating social costs, is calling for repeal of the Oklahoma Lottery.

The Oklahoma Lottery Saturday held the drawing for its new raffle-style game, which, judging by the title, will happen once a year.
This limited-time-only game features a top prize of $250,000 and several smaller prizes, including two second-tier prizes of $50,000 and 300 third-tier prizes of $500.

The couple won $1 million playing Powerball on March 17 with numbers that Charles derived while driving his tractor-trailer rig.
