Over €85 million in unclaimed Ireland Lottery prizes over the past five years
It is completely crazy that the lottery operator is allowed to keep unclaimed prize money. Such revenue should be allocated to local charities.

Over €85 million in unclaimed Ireland Lottery prizes over the past five years
Lotto game currently on six-month winless streak By Kate Northrop Over the last five years, Ireland's National Lottery has had over 85 million (US$95.8 million) in unclaimed prizes returned to its wallet. Whether lottery winners lose their winning ticket, forget to claim their winnings, or were unaware of the win in the first place, those numbers sure do add up. Each year, from 2016 through 2020, the Lottery saw at least 16.1 million (US$18.1 million) returned back to its bank

New giveaway formed after $1 million Iowa Lottery prize goes unclaimed
The Iowa Lottery released a plan for a new giveaway, funded by the money from an unclaimed prize in Nevada. A $1 million prize was won in the Powerball drawing on April 11, 2018 at a Casey's store in Nevada, Iowa Lottery CEO Matt Strawn said. This is the first time in Iowa Lottery history that a $1 million prize has not been claimed. Strawn said the money had to go into a new giveaway to follow state code. And then, the policy makers, of course, with the proceeds generated by the Iowa

Michigan Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million goes unclaimed
I'm already way too tired of hearing the lottery suits making us believe this and that blah, blah, blah about the money going to a good cause, be it education, children's fund or whatever good cause they can conjure up. Here is my honest take on this. If a prize goes unclaimed, for whatever reason, that money should go back to the players pot, be it to the lower tier prizes, free raffle numbers or however they can come up with to make sure that all the players have a shot at it. If they are real

Calif. man knew he won $1M but lost the lottery ticket
By Todd Northrop A California Lottery winner lost out on the opportunity to claim his $1 million Powerball prize after he misplaced his ticket. The man saw news reports about himself buying the ticket in Rosemead and came forward, saying he was the winner, KABC-TV reported. But, he said, he lost his ticket. Because Powerball rules require the winner to produce the actual winning ticket, he was ineligible to collect his winnings, California Lottery spokesman Alex Traverso said. We be

CT lawmakers again seek lottery winnings from 1995 ticket
I do not understand why some states have a 180 day and others have a one year deadline in claiming prize money. Why the discrepancy's among the various lotteries? And another thing. I don't hear about unclaimed prize money rolling over into jackpots like I used to many years ago.Why not? What does the national lottery's do with all the 100's of millions of unclaimed prize moneys each year? This topic needs to be investigated by the news media.

$1 million lottery prize goes unclaimed
It's the big Christmas payout that will never be. Two months ago, someone won $1 million on a Powerball ticket at an Albuquerque, New Mexico, gas station. The deadline for claiming the huge prize came and went Wednesday, with nobody stepping forward with the winning ticket. If I had a million dollars, I could do a lot of good things with it, Kevin Chavez said. The ticket, which sold late September at the Circle K near Ellison and Coors was worth $1 million. That's crazy, Marianne H

Where should the money go?
I feel so bad about my laps of good judgement that I'm now going to push for laws that will forward ALL FUTURE UNCLAIMED prizes directly to mc or his descendants. This should be done on a nation wide basis with ALL unclaimed prises in EVERY state no matter large or small the prize may be. EVERY unclaimed prize in EVERY states goes to mc, from now on.
