$586 MILLION: Mega Millions jackpot climbs toward a new record
LOL!!! I can see the MUSL folks going nuts with a that many 5+0 winners. Powerball once yeilded 110 second prize winners in a drawing. Quoting Wikipedia: The Powerball drawing on March 30, 2005 produced 110 second-prize winners. The total payout to these winners was $19,400,000, with 89 winners each receiving $100,000. The other 21 winners received $500,000, as they were Power Play selections. MUSL officials initially suspected fraud or a reporting error. However, all 110 w

MM numbers looks odd again??
Yup, there was an article in the Amarillo paper about it and they quoted some math prof. from a local college about the odds of it happening. I also remember another man from Texas playing one of the nationwide lotteries in New Mexico who got 6 or 7 QP and they were all the same number. I saw a photo of all the tickets, but still wondered if it *might* be some sort of hoax. If not, then there had to be something wrong w/ that lotto terminal, wouldn't you say? Both lines looked funny to me,

$400 MILLION: Powerball jackpot skyrockets
Here are some numbers that I will be playing on Wednesday night. You are very welcome to play these if you like, anyone else can also play these numbers too. This is how I came up with these numbers. I get a sheet of paper and write down all the PB numbers on one sheet and write down the red PB numbers on another sheet, you will have to write them small so they will fall out the bottle when you shake it. I cut each number out and fold it up real small and put the numbers in a big medicine bottle

California - Highway Robbery in Progress
The rules on an aggregate payoff vary from state to state. From PA: For any drawing, if prize liability exceeds the lesser of 300 percent of Mega Millions sales or sales plus $50 million, then these prizes become pari-mutuel. On the record MM drawing last year the total sales were $31 million or enough for 372 $250,000 payouts. The PB aggregate can't exceed $25 million. Of course its not likely, but neither was the fortune cookie incident. It's unlikely any of the small volume PB s

Do some number combinations have better odds?
If Ronnie doesn't key on the same bonus number every drawing, it's a form of a spot play too. And even if he did, it's still probably a much better than average play using 10 or more lines every drawing. I like the idea of 10 or more lines every drawing. But so far I have only been able to get 5 lines together for regular community type lines. People seem very reluctant to share their regular numbers and I suppose I cant blame them if they think they have winning numbers and they don't want t

Do some number combinations have better odds?
When something completely outside the norm (re: more than three standard deviations off) it's worth the effort to make sure that there was no cheating. Assuming that nobody within the lottery commission cheats, they know the game is random. That's why once they found out a fortune cookie distributer put out those numbers - they paid everyone. Had they found that there was cheating going on the obviously would have done further investitgations to find out which players won fairly and which player
