If you had spent the extra $1 for the Power Play option you would have won $35 instead of $7.With the new rules it makes more sense than ever to purchase the Power Play option...what if you had got all 5 white ball numbers and didn't buy the Power Play option?Without the Power Play option you would have won $200,000...with the Power Play option you would have won $1,000,000.

I would like to know for those of you that play Powerball, how often do you buy Power Play? I never buy Power Play. I would rather put that extra $1 towards another set of numbers that could win the jackpot.

What is the Power Play?Power Play is a special feature that allows a winner to multiply the original prize amount. Powerball players can multiply their Powerball prizes by 2, 3, 4 or 5 times (does not include the jackpot). A player must choose the Power Play option when they buy their Powerball ticket, and then the ticket must match one of the 9 Ways to Win before the multiplier takes effect. Power Play costs an extra $1 per play.
