What are the odds? -- Unusual set of 5/39 QPs (California Fantasy 5)
I picked up 5 lines of CA Fantasy 5 quick picks for someone who's been housebound for a while. (Too bad you can't buy them online here.) The first numbers of the lines were 1, 2, 3, 4 5, although not in that order. It's a choose 5 out of 39 game and the numbers in a line are printed out in increasing order, standard stuff. What are the odds of getting 5 quick picks like that?

My crystal ball is so murky that I'd never have seen it coming. Four of any 'decade' coming out is unusual, it doesn't happen much. (only thing more unusual is five in the same decade coming out. That last happened in Take5 on Christmas Day 2014 when 31 32 33 37 39 was drawn) We were over in Connecticut yesterday. Only because a lot of people are idiots who can't miss a chance to think there's a conspiracy. 3 winners in the same store is obviously one player who bought 3 tickets, or possibly a clerk accidentally printed the extra tickets. No CableGames, I can't recall seeing 6 doubles in a row. The average should be 2 or 3 every 10 draws. My way of playing doubles started as taking the number that is the coldest and play that number double, and pair it with whatever but a recent hot number would make sense. That's the way I was first taught to play doubles. So like I said before cold,hot,cold. (4,4,0) It makes sense. But the 6 doubles in a row thing that's unusual. 4 in a row is unusual.

Actually last night drawing had an unusual result. I've be tracking the last 172 MegaMillions drawings since the last matrix change and normally none of the winning numbers are among the numbers that have followed the numbers of the last drawing in previous drawings. Usually that group range between 20-35 reducing the number pool to 40-60 numbers which can reduce the odds of matching 5 from 1:17M to 1:5M or less. Unusual format for your pick 6 game but I like it (unusual in that we have nothing like it here). Like you I prefer to pick my own numbers, and will change them up every draw unless I have a ticket that has only a number or two come up on all my 5 lines combined. In that case I will play the same lines in hopes I'll have better results next time. In my Tri State Megabucks game that only rarely happens as with 5 lines I usually win something on one of them. JP is up to 2.95 million for tomorrows

Awesome! I decided to watch it a little more. Sometimes she quickly goes cold for a few draws after hitting but them comes back to haunt you a few days later. With regard to tonight's pick 3 I covered all odds. Did you notice that all 3 of our drawings were totally even digits? That's kind of unusual. It's not unusual of course to have one either odd or even dominate but to totally exclude half of the field in all 3 draws; even for TLC, that's a little suspect.
