Yes, won 5$ on the free keno ticket. I think they print them randomly....it's not actually a ticket, it's a coupon, and you can scan it on a machine or have clerk scan it for the free ticket. so look for taller tickets in your stack there might be coupon next to it. Unless your lottery retailer has the volume off, the machine yells, FREE TICKET....lol

I'm sure it's possible that some bizarre glitch could result in a ticket being printed with one set of numbers even though the bet slip had different numbers and the central computer recorded the numbers from the bet slip. In that case the rules probably mean that neither set of numbers matters, because the ticket has to match the information on file. I saw almost the same thing happen on Monday when a vending machine cut off the bottom of a ticket, but that person didn't scratch the ticket. The clerk refunded the money, opened the machine and corrected the problem. Not everyone notices the bar codes on the bottom of the ticket, but payoffs are based on them. Without a bar code the lottery can't pay though they should know if the $50 was paid.

Totally agree. Without fail if I have 10,30,40 in my play area, I will get a 20 up top. If there are 40 possible #'s and 25 in my play area, you would think it would be random and not always happen. I am almost certain that the individual terminals generate the numbers. Why? Think about how many numbers are being generated everywhere at any given moment (but especially during record sales). The network would be incapable of receiving the request for a QP then sending back that number. If I'm not mistaken, the process goes 1) player requests QP, 2) machine generates QP and validates, 3) sends to network. Annoyed while waiting in the lottery line - Venting
So today while I was at lunch break playing my usual everyday tickets, the woman at the cash register was slow pressing the buttons. She had to enter how many tickets I had bought from the lotto machine and input each transaction into the cash register from the lotto machine each time. I was telling her I wanted a powerball ticket and some guy comes out of nowhere behind me, and the other clerk who was there working gave the other guy my ticket. This isn't the first time this has happened to me.
