I think I got ripped off
Unless it is different in Indiana than Illinois, which I doubt it, you do not have to enter the amount you have won, matter of fact, you can't. When I worked in the gas station and cashed in lottery tickets you just scan the ticket and put in the code. If I were you I would always ask for a winner's ticket it, has the amount that you have won, the time, and the date, after the ticket number has been put in. After they put the number in the first the machine recognizes the number and when you put

Warning about PA Self-Service Machines
Tonight I used a self-service machine to check a ticket I knew was a winner so I could use it to buy another ticket. For those of you unfamiliar with the machines, you can insert money or winning tickets to get credits to buy other tickets. If its not a winner it spits it back out. Tonight, at the store I usually go to, the machine malfunctioned and ate the winning ticket. The store clerk was unable to open the machine to get it out and told me to come back tomorrow to retrieve it. Since it was

Man let lottery winner go first

There is no central number generator for all machines, and there is no central pool of Quick Pick numbers .Each machine has its own independent Random Number Generator (RNG) that generates the Quick Picks.A

$1.9 BILLION POWERBALL JACKPOT SETS WORLD RECORD OF UNIMAGINABLE WEALTH
Sounds like a state hasn't verified their ticket sales numbers apparently if the count is off by one ticket someone is able to take the numbers to a machine select them and if they know how to hack the machine to make the time stamp correct you can claim the ticket as a legitimate win quite the loophole indeed .
