OldSchool good luck man! Trust me I know what a gambling addiction can and WILL do to yourself. I've been Gambling for years wishing that one day I'll win big and the truth is most of us that chase the BIG win will NEVER win in our lifetime. U may win 5,000, 10,000 or even 50,000, but after you add up the years of playing with the total you spend on playing most ppl just break even or they are still on the down slope. I've lost over 10k in the casino over a 3 month period and not to mention the

rhode island 20 dollar scratchers are awful
Same way here. I do better when I buy 5 or so atr a time. Never profited on a book yet. In April I hit $1K and 2-$500. Before that my only win above $100 was back in 1997 and I play alot. Sorry for the loss, but hopefully with the decent odds, you will find that winner. Maybe buy a couple here and there. That way even if you only hit $100, its a break even type thing. I started mixing it up. I use to buy big in bulk assuming I had better chance at a big win. Never worked for me. Good luck and ho

Congrats UniverseNumbers and cjs811, love seeing these big wins. Im always curious what are the first words you say after a huge win reveal like that, pretty sure you cursed? where were you when your revealed the win and who was the first person you told about your win? No need to answer if its too personal, Enjoy your winnings and keep getting big wins!

Which scratch off has a better chance of getting a big win in your opinion...WCC or the 100X? Me personally have done better on the 100X but just need to know which is the better scratch off to splurge on to hunt a big win.

Very nice win Giantfan! Hopefully you hit one of those big wins soon. I will say from experience that the high dollar games give better odds at life-changing prizes but they can beat you up really fast. Every time I lose on a $25 ticket, I think that I could have bought 5 $5 tickets instead. Play whatever you are comfortable with and just make sure to keep your winnings when you get a big win.

@ EMTAdam - I am rooting for you Adam and wish you the best of luck with the 34 books. Heck, even if you don't find the last big one there are some really nice consolation prizes remaining that should make ya happy. Hope you find a 20k or 10k or 5k or some 1k's.....plus you get to use all the losers as write offs against your big wins :) Win-Win either way.......Looking forward to seeing some pics soon!!!

Nice win Kfla. Good that you stopped and decided to play the next day instead of trying to chase another big win. A chinese restauraunt selling scratch offs? Wow thought I had seen it all when I saw a dollar store selling them and someone at the flea market with a kiosk in Ft. Lauderdale. Who knows where those big winners at then. Does anyone know what it takes to be able to sell Lottery tickets?

Lucky and unlucky Scratch-off ticket numbers
Well, I got $100 on a $1 ticket, so it does happen, but not that often. I would do what seems to work the best. I have found the majority of winners on odd numbers, for example, but not always. Just like with winning two in a row, it may happen from time to time, but not very often, and the second winner is not usually that big even if it happens. If you keep up with a certain roll, you might not always be able to pinpoint where the next winner will fall, but you might do better than blind luck.

Well I know the feeling, I don't make a lot to begin with, so doing any extracurricular activities has to be thought out very well, but when it comes to the lottery, that's a task a half, nobody plays to lose, so when we do play we're all looking for a nice win, when we don't get one we try to keep hope alive by playing more, over the last week I've lost about $600 on various lottery games, I also play the daily games, the way that the lottery is structured is for them to always be on the upswin

Tipping the salesperson on a big win
I don't tip since even with any big wins, in the end I lose lots more money then I win :( Only scenario where I could see myself maybe tipping is if somehow the clerk suggested I buy a certain ticket and, and I got a big win from that ticket. For example I remember one time I was at the store and the clerk mentioned he hasn't seen any wins from a book of a certain $10 scratcher yet, so I bought one ticket from that book and I did indeed win $50. Didnt tip since its not a big amount but let
