$1,000 winner today here in IL. Illnoisdreamer, I prefer $10/$20/$30 tickets. I will buy from the same roll/game till I get a winner. I like new books that way i know the ticket before wasn't a big winner. I play a lot and do not claim to be making a profit, my biggest win was 10k a few years ago on a ten dollar ticket. I like everyone else is looking for that elusive big prize. Good Luck to you.

Nice win Clark, Those big wins on the $2 tickets are very elusive. Maybe the $50k is lurking out there for you.

@Dracos I'm down $55 in the past two weeks on scratch offs. My experience with the $25 fortune ticket is in most cases I just break even or maybe a $30 win for a very slight profit. Bought one last week, lost. Bought a $5 monopoly and lost. Today I tried my luck on a $20 flamingo since I had never played it before and lost, then tried the $5 flamingo and lost. I'm through with the lottery. Always lose money or break even. It's really just a waste. You will go broke trying to find that one big wi

Tipping the salesperson on a big win
Tipping is appropriate if the individual spends a great deal of time scratching the tickets at the store. I've seen customers buy one ticket at a time, scratch it, lose and go back and forth several times until they get a winner, cash it in and then leave without tipping the clerk, who is most likely flustered because of the constant interruptions and having to deal with other customers. Even if it's not a big win I'd say give the clerk something..

So I'm down in Florida right now for a family medical emergency. Finally caught a break and did some shopping at Publix. Got 2 Monopoly $5 tickets. The first one had the car symbol for x5 and the second one had the win all symbol. So I'm thinking hell yeah, big win! Cause the way I scratch off my tickets is just where the numbers are not the prize amount. But of course x5 was $2, and the win all was $2s $5s. LOL Can't catch a break.

Georgia Lottery Scratch Offs
Thanks goherd! I'd like to find as many big wins as you do without having to spend as much. Good luck with your break, keep going, don't play until you feel the time is right and don't chase. That $300 win came from not chasing.

Georgia Lottery Scratch Offs
Hey Falcon! Good to hear from you. My luck is up and down but probably because I don't know when to quit. I hit $500 last week on 100x and hit $250 today on a 50x. Problem is I lose so much in between and after that I am never up. I have to admit by cutting back I am not down as much as I would normally by cutting back but if I am not careful things could swing bad. I guess I am always searching for that big win that is eluding me. I guess I am down about $1000 for the year. I could win that wit

I agree 100% with you Skeptic I don't enjoy buying them anymore I don't get that rush of a big winner comming. I buy tickets now just to try to win my money back. I know by me not playing for a good while won't hurt the Lottery but if we are hurting then others are too. If I was super rich I would buy 10 books of the shi% $25 tics and see what the odds really are. But I wish everyone good luck and look forward to seeing your wins. Yes I'm sick I spent $600 easy of hard earned money my stomach is

PA Scratch off tickets
Someone told me a long time ago that it's best to buy ten tix at a time. I listened to them and actually broke even (for two years!) before I moved to ny. In fact a lot of my big wins have come from buying 2-10 at once. It doesn't always work, of course. In general, I recommend big tickets. If you're in it to win. If you just like playing, threes are fun.
