Losing faith in lottery, dismayed at what I'm seeing in America
Thanks for the replies. I had typed up a good response last night and then my iPad ran out of battery. But, I've been able to wrap my head around things and actually had a couple of good plays. I left playing the $5 tickets and got a separate couple of $10 tickets and won my first $50! $20 on another game. Atnewkids, I agree with you big time and that confirms my suspicious about buying lottery in town. I live in Tennessee (but travel often and get to buy tickets elsewhere), and I'm wholly c

That's how it is sometimes, Kamba. If you think about it... The odds on a $25 ticket is 1 in 2.88. So, roughly every roll has 14 winners and 26 losers. Obviously, this is an average and you'll hear of outlier big payout rolls with 20 winners potentially, or horrible rolls with maybe as little as 8-10 winners at $25-$30 each (making the total roll around $250/$300 out of $1000. I've witnessed a $20 Monopoly roll that had a $1000 winner, $500 winner, and $200 winner within the fir

Just my thoughts take for what you will. I've thought about this a lot. I feel if people expect money they don't deserve the money nor need it. People who are truly your friends won't ask you for money and those are the people i would reward with something nice. Ultimately it's up to you and it's your family, however as someone above me said the money will go very fast. If you read every lottery advice ever you have to learn to say no . Once you start down this path it's never ending as they

Best way to buy?
Last year I ran a pool at work that had a full pack of $5 NY Lottery scratch off tickets as the top prize. (100 tickets were included in the pack which was wrapped in clear cellophane.) When I purchased the entire pack of tickets, the big thing I learned was that the tickets had to be activated (by the retailer) because if they weren't, any prizes won could not be claimed. This is done to protect retailers. If a store was burglarized and an un-opened pack was stolen, the thieves couldn't win

Best way to buy?
You are most likely asking people who have not won! I haven't won big but that wont stop me from offering an opinion. Look on the NY official lottery website and make sure you buy tickets for which there are still top prizes available. You don't want to buy tickets that have all the top prizes gone where they could only get maybe the third or fourth prize of $1000. They should at least still have the Top prize available for the tickets you buy. If it were me I would be te

Honestly though, looking at all the odds...I'd even go as far as to say the $20 Flamingo is a better ticket to play than LFL. There are way more prizes out there for the Flamingo ticket, and with how old LFL is...I just don't feel confident about those remaining prizes being found with how old LFL is. The chances of hitting $100-$1,000 is better on LFL, but the chances of hitting big prizes on the $20 Flamingo seems to be better. I'd say the $25 Fortune ticket has much better odds of a big h

Last of the California Second Chance Jackpots
The odds keep getting worse and worse for the player with each new game they release. The games have become pretty boring as well. But I see more and more people playing everything calotto offers all the time now. I see people digging out losing tickets regularly (2nd chance). It's CA. It's a big state with a huge population. Basically a country. Many things that many people want/dream of having are really difficult to obtain nowadays. So now I see all different types of people playing everyt

scratch card truth
Stay away from lottery scratch cards ... long story short - and I can't get into great detail here because it would require a different topic matter and therefore new thread, which I don't mind doing for you if you're interested in hearing it in case you didn't know - but scratch cards are not in fact random gambling or a true random lottery at all as a state run lottery would have you believe in the advertising and promotion. Just talk with an employee of G-Tech or Scientific Games, the 2 compa
