Pot Size Prediction?
Anyone with sense will always weigh the risk against the reward. You're not risking much with a $1 lottery ticket, but wouldn't you prefer to risk it on a bigger reward? If you had the choice to buy a $1 ticket for a game with a $3 million prize or a $1 ticket for a game with a $5 million dollar prize which would you choose if both games had the same odds? Now suppose the choice was to get one ticket for both games or two tickets for the one with the bigger prize. Which would you choose? Mayb

Why you Will Never win Mega or Powerball
This is my Theory..and I hate to keep beating it in the ground..but past few weeks I have put some serious thought in to it..especially since they all share the same numbers..what works for one will work for all..so lets try this theory out...The National Weather Service uses PAST DATA to track and forcast Hurricaines Right?..I think Everyone knows now that if you want to know what is coming look to the past for the best chance of getting what you are looking for.. What would happen

Wonder where the other half of 390 mill is?
If someone wants to know how much they won, I think they should either: 1. Check online or 2. Get a slip that has the winning numbers on it, and then look on the back of a playslip that shows how much you win. I'm sure most clerks are honest about how much a person wins, but I like to have 100% certainty about the amount that I won. It would really suck to have a winner(especially a big one), and then the clerk tell you it's not a winner, keeping it for themself.

I look at it like this... (odds of winning)
I see it like this. There are 104 chances to win the Usa Mega Millions Jackpot each year. There are also 104 chances to win the Powerball Jackpot each year as well. Thats 208 possible chances to win the Jackpot of either game! In 10 years, thats 2080 chances (and its multiplied if you uy more than 1 ticket!!) Thats not bad at all! You have better odds buying a $1 jackpot lottery ticket and winning the jackpot than you do if you took that same $1 dollar, took it to a casino and tried to tur

Probabilty of Someone Winning a PB & MM Jackpot in the same Week!
No, True Critic, although you are correct when using that formula. I was just showing KY Floyd that his theory about every time you buy another ticket you cut the odds in half isn't valid. However, I see your point, because I've seen this many times on math boards. JAG said a few posts back that this isn't getting anywhere, and I agree. The reason isn't because one of us is right or one of us is wrong, but that in a game where the odds are over a 100 million to one, buying 2 or 10 or even

Record Jackpots excluding current Mega
When I started this I had 20 most of which I had to get the cash amount by Googling for newspaper articles from just after the win. Since everyone on the list choosed the cash amount it was fairly easy. My earlier lists included a CA superlotto win that I could never find a good cash amount for. Later I pared it down to 15. The list is just a text file on my desktop that I don't change unless something actually breaks the cash amount on the list. Actually you suggested I pare it down since all o

Are you ready for some PB? Schooling
[Posted by tntea: Your main focus should be on the white balls. Not the powerball number itself. It has always baffled me when customers came in trying to figure out what the PB number will be.. Heck.. get it and only it you get $3... Are you going to spend $10 trying to hit the PB for $3... ? I am not... However the focus on getting as many white balls will get you closer to the big pot.. So we begin now?] I disagree. It's true that catching the PowerBall alone (1 in 68.96 odds) pays $3,
