$315 Million Winners Still Working
I'd be afraid of getting bored, and finding new things to worry about that money can't easily solve, but would rather have more money than less money any day! Part of the fun is playing, so the big let down would be not caring if I hit the Pick 3 again.

2nd tier MM prize as a progressive
I agree what you said Todd. The mini progressive of CA Matching 5 numbers in MM is a twist that MM didn't expect. It doesn't endanger F5 in CA right now, but I wished that F5 and Pick 3 go to a ball security machine.

CA screws players
ryanm -A pari-mutuel lottery payout system is only good if you're the person running it or taxing it. P-M takes all the risk out of a lottery and puts all the liability on the bettor. In a P-M lottery system the State cannot lose.If you've ever been to a horse race and placed a bet, you've participated in a pari-mutuel gambling system. But, in any such system, the circumstances are different. You'd have trainers, jockeys and other employees to pay, animals to feed, and owners looking at the bott

Did anyone notice the awesome 3rd tier Calif Mega Millions prize?
Just6ntlc -CA is pari-mutuel because that's the state law concerning all lottery games, from Pick 3 on up. That's why the payout structure is completely different for CA than for any other state with MegaMillions.glj

Mega at 100 million but sales drop
Maybe the novelty has worn off for Californians. Just wait until it hits $200 mil, then they'll go to Mega like Louie Anderson on a meatball sub. Correction, like me on a meatball sub with a free NJ Pick 3/4 with Instant Match included.

MM (new) v NY Lotto
This poll doesn't make much sense to me. They are completely different games. It's comparing apples and oranges, like saying, which game is better: Pick 3 or Jersey Cash 5?

40% is not enough!
Anything more than a 50% vig or take would be unacceptable to me.Scratch-off tickets and lower-tier jackpot games payoffs take should be illegal.I'll stick with the pick 3 and when that goes to more than 50% take I'll go back to the ponies with an 18% take. Casinos are only taking 8% of your money but the volume of bets in a two-hour visit to the casino far exceeds a visit to the lottery terminal or mutuel clerk at the track.
