California Super Lotto Plus Part 2
It doesn't matter how many California Super Lotto Plus tickets you buy Redd55? It's about the California Super Lotto Plus jackpot and the number of jackpot hits. So far we only have 3 hits. It will be a career low if it stands at the end of the year. The previous low is 5 set last year Redd55! I buy a Powerball ticket for $2 and a California Super Lotto Plus ticket for $1 for Wednesday's $7 million draw for August 23rd because my staff member (Libbie's Care Home) Jim Tang matched the Powerball N

California Super Lotto Plus Payments
I looked at the California regulations and I don't see it now. They may have changed it when Mega Millons started in California. This is not the first time this subject has come up on LP. I remember quoting the California regulations and I also remember others being surprised that the same was true in their state. When I have more time I will search LP for that thread. It was an eyeopener to many!

Probability of a MegaMillions rollover.
I expect there will be many large jackpots in the future. Even when the lottery resets, there is roughly a 50-50 chance of it reaching about $90M and a 15% chance of reaching $200M.California is a large contributor to lottery sales, of course, although often New York has larger sales. The loss of California would mean slower jackpot growth.I lived in California for many years and I expect that the state will find a way to remain in Megamillions. The game is rather popular. Sales for the abbr

Crazy Jackpot Swing over next 2 Draws
This will be interesting to watch, because we can really see the effect of California now:On April 19th (just 3 months ago), the jackpot rolled from $168 million to $205 million for the April 22nd drawing, at which time it was hit.Prior to that, the last time it was this big was one year ago on June 25, 2004, when it was $177 million. After that, the jackpot went to $220 million on the 29th, then straight to $290 million on July 2, 2004 (when it was hit). What does this mean? I think that if we

Did anyone notice the awesome 3rd tier Calif Mega Millions prize?
I checked both the websites of California and New York and both states contribute 32% of their MegaMillions tickets sales to the jackpot and use 18% of those sales to pay the other prizes. I assume the same is true for all MegaMillions states although they don't post it on their websites. Since California decided to go pari-mutuel after each game, winners won't know what they've won until after the money is counted and divided by a formula that depends on the number of winners in the state and

money after cash value and taxes
. The current federal tax rates are 10% 15% 25% 28% 33% and 35%. The state of California have the following tax rates 1% 2% 4% 6% 8% 9.3% and 10.3%. As I understand it just because California withholds 25% for your federal taxes this doesn't get you off the hook for possibly up to another 10% of federal tax that your accountant will have to file as an estimated tax which will probably be done before the end of the current calendar year in say three payments. This is similar to what people who ow
