California second-prize Powerball "jackpot" finally won
I've been keeping an eye on the California second-prize Powerball pool that's been rolling for a crazy number of drawings. Last night it was finally won by one ticket, awarding a prize of $7,054,356 for winning second prize! From USA Mega: Edit: I just counted, and it was 46 drawings without a second-prize winner in California. The last time there was a second prize winner before last night was on Sept. 7, 2019.

I thought the reason states like Florida and California offered pari-mutuel payouts was to limit their payouts based on ticket sales and number or winners for each drawing rather than losing money on one drawing and making it up on another one. Proof it was WAY TOO EASY for the California MM winner to win
In the last MM drawing I bought my own tickets and also participated in a large pool where 200 tickets were purchased between 20 individuals. We all won a grand total of $0. Landed no winning numbers. It was way too easy for the winner in California. I guess they didn t purchase Powerball tickets because it rolled last night lol
