Does your odds increase tremendously by millions just like this? Read for details.
Well, there's a tricky line between playing numbers you think have shown up too much or too little and those that actually have. I don't really play draw games much anymore but when I do, usually I will perform a chi-square test on the numbers; basically it is a statistical test for bias/independence. There are other and more vigorous tests but this one is the simplest. You come up with an 'expected' number of appearances (basically 6*draws/49), compute the chi-test statistic, and then calculate

Calculating odds for a subset of numbers
Assuming I'm playing 56/46 MegaMillions and I'm able to pick 200,000 tickets for each drawing that cotains the Jackpot winning ticket for 75% of the drawings. How would I calculate my odds for each drawing? I've calculated this several different ways and nothing seems right. It's obviously more than 200k/1 but less than 173m/1.

Predicting number patterns?
time*treat, I understand what odds are and why they would be placed into calculations. What I don't comprehend is why they are needed to anticipate the possible next draw after analizing past draws. Wouldn't it simply be analize and anticipate ? Why would you also need to calculate the odds ? Thanks for asking...

Pick 4 Math Help?
...All of the percentages and the amount of games required to obtain them are all very accurate. The calculations don't need to account for the 50% frequency because it's the per-game chance of a no-matched boxed Pick 4 number (24/10,000) that is used to calculate all the figures. As for when a single number is late: I like to think that a single number (in boxed form) is late after 2,511 consecutive games without having been drawn heres why: The odds for a single to be drawn are 24 in

Does Lose for Life Employ a Statistician?
Is my math wrong??? The back of a Lose for Life play slip states the odds of losing the big prize are 1 in 5,245,788. I calculate the odds are 1 in 5,245,786. Yeah, not a real big difference, I know. You'd think they would be concerned with accuracy at the lottery!?!

quiz pick-4 daily game odds
Jade I can calculate the odds for each S/C value. I feel that I am not adequately explaining what I am trying to do. I am trying to offset the odds using my average hit rate as a starting point to calculate an estimate for being able to hit all the values. This is kind of quasi-math guess at best but since my baseline hits are far above the expected, I would feel comfortable as long as I know I am not missing something in my calculations. I am not a mathematician so I can stray o

Look at this and calculate the Odds...
Figure this..... In the past 18 draws no drawn number has started with any of these digits below. ..and it could go even further after today. Maybe the most ugly Pick 3 stat I've ever seen. 1xx 2xx 3xx = 500 numbers ! 4xx 9xx

Trying to calculate the number of combinations with criteria
You would calculate the odds like you do for PM and MM which use two groups of numbers. 5 of 30 = 142,506 x 1 of 15 =15 or 15 x 142,506 = 2,137,590

MATH 5/39: Stack47, Garyo1954, RL-RANDOMLOGIC VS Jimmy4164
It's not that I dislike him personally, it's just that he hasn't provided any useful information to help anybody hit a jackpot or even get tiny profit playing any lottery game. Has it ever occured to you that since I learned many years ago that it is impossible to do this, I don't even try? What I have said over and over is that the best you can do is spread your winnings(losses) out over many small hits, but that in the end you are going to lose, UNLESS you hit the Jackpot, RL-RANDOMLOG

Predicting number patterns?
I look at past draws to anticipate LOL what patterns should happen next and thus pick my numbers accordingly. Even though I don't calculate what should happen versus what has actually happened.......in a sense I'm still factoring in the odds(maybe not as accurately) by choosing one pattern over another. I guess at some point you still have to look at the odds. The same thing goes for the numbers. If I choose one number over another because based on it's past performance I think it has a better c
