Alabama Gov. compares lottery to leisure suits
Sady he reflects the mentality of that state regarding lotteries. Don't know if Mississippi ever tried, but feel they think along his lines. Nevada never will because of the casinos. Utah won't because of religious influence. I won't mention Hawaii or Alaska since they're not part of the CONUS. Wish we had a national lottery like the Europeans do.

State lotteries head to Washington to enforce states' rights on gambling
WOW. This bill is being sponsored by the representative from Utah. One of only two states that do not have legalized gambling. It sounds to me like this representative is trying to force his views about gambling on the rest of the country.

$450 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot nears record
I can see the coffers from Alabama, Mississippi, Nevada and Utah leaving to border states to play the lottery. Didn't include the other two holdouts for obvious reasons...where could Hawaiian or Alaskan residents drive to? lol

Wyoming officially becomes 44th state with a lottery
If you want to be free of gambling, scratch Nevada and Mississippi from list of states without a lottery because they both have casinos. Alabama and Utah might be your best choices because they border a state without a lottery and states with lotteries. If you get the urge to drive out of state and buy tickets, it would be very difficult if you retire in Alaska and Hawaii.

"Lotologist" has amassed 250,000 used lotto tickets
That would be a long wait. Utah will get a lottery before Alaska will. It's just far too remote and too many places don't even have phone lines for the logistics to work.

Ornery dog leads to $1M lottery win
A group of blue collar University of Utah workers will split $1 million in lottery winnings thanks to a set of keys left in a truck and an ornery little dog named Stella. Thirteen years after playing the same set of numbers every month in the Idaho lottery, the group of 33 workers who work on heating and cooling university buildings hit pay dirt when Steve Hughes left his truck running to keep his dog Stella warm while he went inside to a gas station near Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, on Jan. 6.

Mississippi Lottery announces new Cash 4 game
Their lottery has done very well since its inception. Now if Alabama folks would be offered the chance to vote on a lottery then it would leave four states without a lottery. Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah all without. The last two never will...perhaps none listed will!

New Powerball feature coming to some states
There's nothing illegal about one or more states offering a lottery game that is not available in other states. People in Washington cannot play Florida Lotto, and people in California can't buy the multiplier option on PB and MM. Life goes on. You live in Utah where there is no lottery anyway, so where exactly are you going to sue?
