Tenn. players picked up on new odds before lottery revealed glitch
I'll just post this and let you decide. From the graph provided, I estimated the point shown on the graph in green. It shows the point I have brought up in a Blog I made back in August. From my Blog from 2007 Aug 29: Boy I tell ya, there are some people who think everyone is stupid and will believe anything you say without question. Like these statements from Lottery Post News, Official wants fraud probe of Tennessee Lottery: Hargrove said she did not believe fraud was involved. S

$204 Million: Saturday Powerball Jackpot
It does seem to me that driving 6 housr for a powerball ticket, is just plain silly. Go to betslips.com and place your order there. They charge $2.00 for a $1.00 ticket, but even at that, its cheaper than paying for gas at $3.00+ per gallon on a six hour trip, at 19MPG sounds like about $50.00 round trip, not including the cost of the lottery. My math says, play on betslips, save yourself some time not driving for six hours, and remember you got this information from me when you win. A s

Ex-husband of big Mass. lottery winner is happy for his family
Quote: Originally posted by dphillips on July 12, 2004What a damn fool...he should have hung in there with her! I bet he is beating himself over-and-over-and-over again. Since he is divorced, he cannot receive anything, anyway. Look at the time frame. I see why he probably flunked math in school.dphillips (Blue)D, I'm surprised at your comments. Are you suggesting that he should have remained unhappily married for 25 additional years just so he could get part of this money. Even if I knew o

The transformation of Lucky for Life into a computerized daily drawing
Has anyone added up the cost to play each of their state lottery drawn games every day for just one week? The Kentucky Lottery offers seven daily games and the minimum bet for straight/box pick-3 and pick-4 is $1 so add $28 to the weekly total and another $7 for Cash Ball and $14 for Five Card Cash. Then there is the $2 a ticket Lucky for life at $14 a week for each and with MM is drawn twice a week and PB now three times a week add another $10 a week. . If the math is correct that's a mi

Hoosier Lottery often pulls plug on high-dollar scratch-off games before all prizes can be won
So, here is the missing piece of information. Do you know how they get low sales numbers for a game they want pulled? They push new games out that compete for the same spot in the bins. They know how many retailers there are in a state and the total number of display bins. They say the games are pulled due to low sales which is not untrue. The low sales are generated by the constant release and targeted release of competing games. There is a 10$ game right now they will do this with. They have t

Hoosier Lottery director offers reassurances on outsourcing
It's the sad march to the sea. Privatization seems attractive, so the state can sit back and collect revenue without responsibility or overhead costs. But it's simple math. If any company want to win a bid, they will have to promise the moon, and that's on top of taking on all the overhead costs that made it such an unattractive task for the state! They have to make that up someway... you guessed it - WE will be getting less value. The private company will change the games to dramatically DEcrea

Mass. Lottery knew about exploited game's flaws for years, IG says
Local media reported last summer that a few gamblers with an extraordinary knowledge of math and probability had found a quirk in Cash WinFall shortly after it was introduced in 2004, allowing them to make an almost guaranteed profit as long as they purchased enough tickets at the right time. There are hundreds of posters on LP that believe they found quirks in almost every lottery game including scratch-offs. All the lotteries are keeping at least a 40% of there total ticket sales so while

Iowa Lottery to give away millions from jackpot mystery
Iowa gets its share of a $77M powerball jackpot that went unclaimed in Georgia of only $600,000? Using a website that tracks the powerball sales by state I can add up to about $2.6M in powerball sales by the Iowa lottery leading to the unclaimed $77M jackpot being won. Unless Iowa lottery is engaged in some funny math or some weird rules of dividing up the unclaimed jp that I am unaware of, I think Iowans are being decieved. I wonder what Massachusetts lottery plans to do with about

Audit finds 'ticket cashers' remain problem for Mass Lottery
This is the tip of an iceburg that will eventually melt down, I believe, and wreak havoc for lottery players. As far as the official designation professional gambler - you don't have to choose this. Win the right amount, and the IRS will happily sign you up! So, the govt creates a problem and now has to get creative and get out of it. Absolute power indeed. My opinion on the coming meltdown: I believe ultimately lottery states are going to require the winner of every lottery ticket to sign/

His and Hers: Wisconsin spouses win identical lottery jackpots
This couple won't have to argue about how to spend their lottery winnings. That's because the Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, husband and wife each won their own $350,000 jackpots in this weekend's SuperCash state lottery. Lottery officials said Verlyn Adamson bought his winning ticket at a Mineral Point gas station and his wife Judith bought hers from a convenience store in Barnevald. Verlyn Adamson is an accountant who says he's a big fan of math puzzles. He claims he developed a secret formula
