Question about taxes for Ohio Pick 4 winnings
In my county, winning a lottery prize larger than $600 is a big deal and seldom happen so even if the one bank that is approved to process those claims had a scanner it would be seldom used. Besides it's the retailer that sold the ticket that gets the commission so he should be the one helping the winner fill out his claim.

Question about taxes for Ohio Pick 4 winnings
You can cash winning tickets worth $600 to $5000 at a local approved bank with a claim form and a voucher from your local retailer proving your ticket is a winner. The bank won't take any taxes out of your prize but will take their fees for processing your claim. You will later get a W-G form from the state showing your winnings as earned income and you will pay taxes on it at the same rate as all your other income.

What's The Clerk do with YOUR winning Ticket after you Cash it?
For one thing states allow retailers to keep winning tickets they cash and for another as one retailer told me he gets tire of crooks bringing in winning tickets that have been cashed else where and arguing with his clerks when the terminal shows the tickets have already been cashed.

What in your estimation was the best or worse advice you received. .
Bad advice don't play that number no one is seeing it in their workouts or play that ticket no one ever hit it any way. Don't buy the tickets other players reject because they feel the retailer mess- up their numbers when they are one who calling out the numbers to the clerk with a long list. Best lottery advice, follow your own mind!

Where is your favorite spots for purchasing lottery tickets?
No favorite spot for me as none of my tickets have ever paid out more than $7. I just pick up a ticket if the retailer even sells them and whether the lottery is even on my mind.

Welcome to the LP, grannyhines, just go to the store you are going to use the most to buy tickets, where they have the slips to play the games in that same area are the leaflets for the games, pick up the ones your really want to try and study it. If they are out of a leaflet of a game you want to try in that area, go too the retailer or a clerk at the counter, ask them for some of the leaflets. Most of the time they have extra behind the counter to refill the bins with.

I played CA lottery online with one of the online websites, need input.
I'm with Drenick on this one. Go to a certified retailer and buy your tickets there and keep them in your possession. Any online site that offers this is questionable. On the other hand, it's a shame that California doesn't have a $0.50 per play option. That would certainly draw a lot more players, but as a pari-mutuel state, I can't imagine the prizes being too big.

Why won't Ga Lottery show locations and amount of unclaimed tickets
Even if the ticket is never claimed the part of profit that goes to education is still collected by the state and the retailer who sold the ticket still gets his commission. It's just the ticket buyer who loses. In fact the state gets his share too, so it all works out for everybody but the ticket buyer and that's his own fault for not protecting and checking his ticket.
