Six States Losing Millions In RevenueReply
Louisiana benefits from Mississippi not having a lottery, since people from that state cross the border to play. There are several winners from Mississippi listed on the Louisiana Lottery website. Mississippi, like Nevada, also has casinos, so if they have a say, there probably won't be a lottery there soon either.

Alabamians have approved of dog racing in Mobile, horse racing in Eutaw, AL, I think, plus they have gambling on a couple of the Indian Reservations, right. Now Mississippi might, soon, because they have casinos in the water on the Gulf Coast, and inland on the Mississippi River (Vicksburg and Natchez) in addition to the casinos on the Indian Reservation in Philadelphia. Mississippi Lottery
Mississippi is arguing about the tobacco money that needs to go to what Mike Moore argued and won for the state for. Tobacco education, treatment, etc. It should not be used to bale out other state entities like Medicaid. Medicaid could uses proceeds from the lottery and our education system could certainly use it. I do not think that the casinoes will find it a problem because they are either on Reservations or in the water. The neighboring state of Louisiana has casinoes and the lotttery.

Mississippi Casinos Selling Lottery Tickets ListReply
The West Virginia casinos sell lottery tickets. That lottery offered slot machine type games at race tracks and from there it evolved into full service casinos. Are lots of people in Mississippi (and from other states too) going to Mississippi casinos to buy scratch-offs?
