Megamillions $303 million
The first thing I will do after winning is shout about my good fortune from the rooftop, even though Texas now allows for anonymous claiming. I will insist upon a huge press conference, wearing a mask and a t-shirt with my name, address and social security # on it. After collecting, I will buy a huge mansion, much, MUCH larger than I need and will then proceed to furnish it like a New Orleans cat house, with mirrors and red velvet and also with replicas of medieval armor and cheap knock-of

Lead balloon or good idea?
BobP, Even if the spouse and kids went blabbing it would hardly equate to state wide or nation wide attention. I'm sure it happens in states that allow winners to remain anonymous but I don't recall too many horror stories from them. LiveinGreenBay, People would still complain about an after-the-fact fee. Consider union members who complain about union dues going up $10 even if the union just got them a $75 raise. Hearsetrax, Agreed! MillionsWanted, It wasn't an argume

Is it possible to be anonymous in a non anonymous state?
I made the sunglasses remark in response to rosumary's question: Can we wear sunglasses, a face mask and a hat during the press conference? I know how difficult it is for you to stay on topic, but I'll try to explain it so even a child could understand. Don't know and don't care what the 2008 Illinois Lottery policy was, but the jackpot in the 10 year old LP discussion was claimed by JYS Family Limited Partnership. Only you know the relevance of the woman wearing large sunglasses at the pres

Bitcoin lotto shopping -Yes or no ?
A few other things I've read about with regard to Bitcoin and then I'll stop. The amount of $$ being traded in Bitcoins is extremely small in comparison to the amount U.S. Dollars in circulation. That's why the United States Federal Reserve Bank (as of today) pays no attention to it. The US dollar is backed by the full faith and credit of The US government and gold stored at Fort Knox. Bitcoin is backed by no government anywhere, but that's what the guy who created Bitcoin wanted. Nobody know

Interesting way to avoid being hassled ?
UK may just be an outlier. I wouldn't argue against that. What I posted was only to point out people who COULD have stayed anonymous, but didn't. As I've tried to point out in here several times in the past, a winner has much more to fear from their friends and family than they do total strangers. Anonymity might protect you from the latter, but it won't from the former. Facts prove that out. The UK as a society is pretty unique... I would agree with that and it's like I've al

Why are American lotteries rigged?
Homophobic attitude ? I've never seen RCB say a thing against gay folks, no matter where they're from. I believe the word you're looking for is Xenophobic, someone who has an intense or irrational dislike or fear of people from other countries. I don't see that with anything he said, only that he's like me and quite a few others in here in that we don't suffer fools lightly...no matter their nationality. There's a valid reason you're being ridiculed. Also, it's duly noted, not unless you

Do Rng Computers Know What Numbers Not To Pick?
Lotteries allowing winners to be anonymous may be ok for ball drawings, but anonymity combined with RNG drawings makes fraud so easy to hide. And it's not just jackpot games at risk, but also regular Pick 3, 4, etc games too. If anything, the Pick games may be easier to exploit, though the reward far less. An insider could say select a Pick-4 number once a month or so that would be a guaranteed winner and play it heavily that day (or maybe for a few days before to make the winning wager seem

CASTING - ALL3media - Casting Lottery Winners who want to become investors
You wouldn't moonlight as a roofing or siding salesperson, would you? You know, the kind that try to convince you that you really need something from them and not the other way around? Your proposition and opportunity of a lifetime isn't something anyone needs. I'm trying to think of who would be interested in more publicity Mel, and I just can't come up with any reason anyone would want to be on a TV game show? Mr and Mrs Anonymous suddenly become Mr Mrs Down and Out then

Which is better, Skill or Luck?
Luck is important with anything, but it depends on what you are doing. With some gambling events, you do need some skill (from experience) and luck. Something like bowling, golf, you need more skill. Lottery? Well, more luck than skill - but, some skill (if you have a method or can win if xyz occurs). With Scratch Off cards? You need both - Skill from watching, keeping up with the game, developing (or trying) new methods, and some luck because of distribution - which, according to an Insider

Would you be willing to change your name in order to remain anonymous?
For those whose only problem with a name change is the publishing requirement, just rent a cheap apartment in an adjoining state, or in a state where it's easy and cheap to fly to and back in a few hours. Visit every few weeks until residency requirements are met. (I've heard some states have no time requirements, just have an apartment and utility bills in your name. I haven't checked that claim out for myself.) Then publish in a newspaper in that state, change your name to something very commo
