Which States Keep Pick 5 & 6 Winners Names Secret
Most states REQUIRE public disclosure, and some, including New Jersey, even provide an easy method for listing everyone in your town that has won a major prize! Delaware is the only state that I am aware of that specifically provides for remaining anonymous. Do NOT play and expect to remain anonymous if you win, BUT you can always have a plan. You are anonymous up until you actually claim the prize, so there's plenty of time to change your phone number, address, get your finances in order, etc.,

New Lottery Post feature adds up/down voting on individual forum posts
The stars rating seems to be more like how much a thread is liked or disliked where your new post rating system is a simple anonymous like or dislike. My only suggestion is either making the thread star rating anonymous and/or the same up or down as the post rating.

I have a good idea on how to protect Lottery Winners! :D
I really like this idea a whole lot!! PLUS, people seem to forget that you can be somewhat anonymous by forming a trust before you claim your winnings through an attorney, then claim the winning AFTER the trust is setup, choose a name like you would for a business and thats it. You're anonymous

Winner
Personally, I would stay anonymous; but, I keep thinking about the folks who went on the Today show. Even if they did not have the option to remain anonymous, they could have collected in a much quieter manner. Some don t mind the publicity, apparently. Not for me.

Lead balloon or good idea?
Why should the winner have to pay anything to remain anonymous? It's bad enough that the lottery keeps such a large portion of your wager. Charging even a dollar to be anonymous is just another kick in the teeth.

Is it possible to be anonymous in a non anonymous state?
We'll find out shortly here in New Hampshire. Attorneys for last months big Powerball winner will be in court tomorrow seeking an order that will allow her to remain anonymous. Tonight's news had a story about this. She may also have another avenue to stay secretive. A state senator will be introducing a bill this week to allow lottery winners to remain anonymous. Even if it does pass it would appear unlikely to retroactively protect our winners identity.

Texas Lottery Goes Anonymous
Effective January 1st, 2018 the Texas Lottery now officially allows winners of $1 Million Dollar payout prizes or greater to remain anonymous. This includes Scratch Tickets, Texas 2 Step, Texas Lotto, PB and MM. While this is a great victory for players, there is one little note that should also be kept in mind. Should a winner want to claim their prize through the annuity method, then after 30 days the lottery commission can release their name. If you go to the website and look on the right han

Anyone else hate that some states won't let winners remain anonymous?
This is a topic that has interested me and one I feel other people on this forum might be in agreement with me on this. I sometimes play the lottery and like most people I do think about the possibility of winning one of the bigger jackpots even though the chances of winning are extremely low. One thing I cannot wrap my mind around is the fact that in nearly every other country in the world lottery winners are allowed to remain anonymous for the obvious safety reasons. Unfortunately in Americ

4 - Million Dollar Prize Winners with PowerPlay from Last Night's PB in Puerto Rico?
Yes winners in Puerto Rico can stay anonymous. Shockingly, there were two Puerto Rico Powerball jackpot winners in 2015, the year after the island started the game. Both have remained anonymous. Puerto Rico has a lot of crime. There is no benefit in going public, although the lottery commission might tell us if one person or more people purchased those three tickets at the one location.

If you could play any US lottery from any state online would you switch to anonymous states?
Living in Utah without a lottery I have always gone up to Idaho to buy my lotto.... That is until last year when Wyoming got the lottery and has the option to remain anonymous. Even though Wy lottery doest have nearly as many draw games or any scratchers I Choose to play there because I want to be anonymous when I win. Wyoming will be getting Lucky For Life soon which I am excited about :}
