Why do people play QP's?
One Sunday morning on one of the NFL pre-game shows the late Pete Axthelm spoke for about 15 minutes on betting on football. He talked about home field advantage, is it a natural grass team on the road against an artifical surface team, is the QB having problems at home, on and on and one with such things. Then, near the very end of his dissertation, he had a stage hand throw a football out on to the floor of the stage set, and he said, So in the long run you're betting on how something sh

Most don't play enough numbers to profit at Pick 3 !
There are also people who refuse to get it in their head that no matter if you are at a racetrack, a sports book, a casino, or playing the lottery there is not one bet that exists in all of the gambling world that you are not suppossed to lose. The track operators, bookies, casinos, and the lotery are in business to make money (duh!) and only offer bets where they have the edge. Years ago the game of Faro was taken out of the casinos because it was an even money bet (except for the last

California - Highway Robbery in Progress
For educational purposes... parimutuel betting is a form of betting in which bets are pooled together before an event and distributed amongst those who managed to bet correctly once the outcome has been determined. It is a common form of betting for sports events such as horse racing, and the practice is widespread throughout the world. In some cases, parimutuel betting may be the only legal form of betting available. The parimutuel betting system was developed in France in the late 1800s,

Clandestine Raffle....Could you start it?
I just saw on tv that they busted a gambling ring in Arizona, and the leaders or leader had 146 million dollars they had to confiscate it... What i learn from this is that a betting ring leader can make more money than a big drug ring/lord leader....I don't know why big drug lords don't start betting rings (like clandestine raffles) and this way make more money or they can leave their old job...How often do you see a Big Drug lord have 146 million dollars in his account? Only the big ones th

If you had a winning system for winning lottery would you share it?
pumpi76 The way I see it is: You better...If people found out you had a systemthat can win millions you know the amount of people that will kill forit...Is so hard to keep such a thing a secret. Pumpi, Not for millions, but this was for a lot of money. There was a guy in Las Vegas who was so good at betting sports that he had other people go make his bets for him. This is called sending in a beard . Had he went to the sports book himself and bet a game, there would be a line of peo

Is it wrong to...?
mjwinsmith If you were going to a Nevada sports book (the only legal ones in the country, so we'll use Nevada) and someone gave you a six team football paraly to bet, would you see anything wrong with betting the same six team parlay? Isn't a pick 6 lottery game the ultimate six team parlay? I don't see any difference. I also don't see any question of honesty in playing or not playing the same numbers....especially since in your examples you are assuming a solo jackpot, and you can n

depending on the lottery for extra income
The only entity that depends on any form of gambling for income is the house , be it a bookie, casino, or state lottery. For a player to think they can depend on any form of gambling as income is nothing other than economic suicide. If you hear someone tlking about a poker game, for example, and they use the term invest , such as, I didn't know if I wanted to invest anymore in the game , you're listening to someone with a problem. Somone thinking they can depend on a form of gamb

Gambling at best wastes personal resources, and at worst afflicts millions through a lifestyle of

what about people with a system that only share half of the system
I think most people here, except for the hard corps Pick 3 crowd would disagree with that. The average ticket sale is $1. $75 is just a little less than I spend on all games a monrth. I'm not about to put that much on one drawing. As I said before, people who play that heavy are just playing to play. The average player is betting a buck and hoping to pick up a little extra or maybe a lot extra in additiin to a paycheck. I'll answer your scratchers and slot machines by saying if you're g
