interest groups lining up to lobby on web gambling
WASHINGTON, July 3 While Internet gamblers lay down big money on World Cup soccer this summer, teams of lobbyists are facing off on Capitol Hill in a contest over whether the United States should choke off the growth of wagering on the Web. Representative Jim Leach, Republican of Iowa, co-sponsor of bill to cut back Internet gambling. Faced with bills to curb online betting, which attracts an estimated $12 billion a year in wagers worldwide, an array of interest groups like cas

Does God pick the winners
jackpotismine You can make a living playing the lottery but few people do. They ARE professional gamblers. They know when to play and when to fold. I'll agree with the know when to hold and know when to fold, but that in itself hints at professional gamblers being poker players for the most part. There are also those that making a living betting sports, and some that make a living betting the ponies (but they usually have inside information, AHEM!) But professional gambler and lottery

Online Payout Question
I play Black Jack there too. Sometimes I sit and watch at the $200 dollar min table and I've seen people betting upwards to $2,000 dollars a hand. I've also seen someone win like $10,000 in two minutes. (trust: I was counting) but I'll say at least over $100,000 dollars a day just in the black jack alone, maybe even more. The poker room is always crowded and then you just have all the other sports although you can't see the wagers. I know someone who won $250,000 dollars on the Danny Garcia figh

Nasty stat, this
I worked in Vegas casinos- we had a woman come in, set up a line of credit, hung around the dice tables and the sports book. She was betting $1,000 on basketball games, booked herself into the hotel for two weeks. when she asked for a marker (in her case, credit on the table for money deposited at the cage), the computer said:Miss _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _$ _ _ _ _ _ _ on deposit. Occupation: California Lottery Winner So one of the supervisors got talking to her and she said she had won a ver

Non-broadcast balls vs. computers
Computer drawings should be banned and there should be a law that we have the right to see the drawings live on TV. We're betting our hard earned money to help the state with their programs, so I think we have the right to see the drawing live. The States are making billions of dollars from their lotteries, so why do they think they have to go computerized just to save $80,000 to $100,000 each year. I think it is stupid and if congress feels so compelled to worry about steroids in sports they

Do some number combinations have better odds?
I have an account with a legal horse racing book and all the bets must be made manually. If an online state lottery used a similar program, a player could make their bet after filling out each playslip so that would eliminate handing them to a clerk to print. If the lotteries allowed any amount of bets, they could use a program similar to the full wheels on LP. A player could deposit enough money to cover the bet, choose the wheel, enter the numbers, and submit the bet. The horse racing progr

Wasted lottery spendings.. Try this!
I can understand if someone is losing $300 a month playing the lottery why they might be better off saving the money, but betting that savings on an even money wager just doesn't make any sense. It looks like the reason for betting the $300 in weekly installments on PB and MM in the first place was to win millions or even $10,000. Betting $300 to win $300 isn't even in the same ballpark with betting $300 several times to win millions. People play lottery games because of the payoff odd and ve
