The New Jersey Lottery has announced a press conference will be held at their headquarters Friday afternoon to introduce the winners of last week's Powerball. The press conference will be held at 3:00 p.m.
The announcement comes a little less than a week after a winning Powerball ticket was sold at a 7-11 store in Trenton, New Jersey.
Eight winners will be shareholders of that $429.6 million Powerball jackpot.
Only one ticket matched all six Powerball numbers in Saturday night's drawing. The winning numbers were 5, 25, 26, 44, and 66, with Powerball number 9.
It was purchased as a cash ticket and is valued at $284 million. The winner manually picked the winning numbers for the ticket.
The vendor that sold the ticket also gets a prize, and the amount was revealed to be $30,000 on Monday.
The jackpot is the sixth-largest in Powerball jackpot history, and the largest single jackpot winning ticket sold in New Jersey.
Powerball is played in 44 states plus Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The odds of winning are one in 292.2 million.
Uh oh.
You gotta respect the person who entered in their own picks and won. None of this magical something told me to buy 9 quick picks instead of 10 and I won, garbage. But that's just my opinion. My history with quick picks is terrible. I always get closer when choosing my own numbers. Also I feel slightly better that it will be split 8 ways. hahaha
Cashing in on a slow newsday like a Friday. Smart. Too bad the third winner of the record-breaking PB is not cashing in today too. That would help these NJ winners when dealing with the Press and Public.
I am guessing that all eight are related to each other. Siblings? Cousins? Congratulations!!
Nice nice. Having more winners when the jackpot is this high gives hope to those who have been playing for years & have " nothing" to show for it. Sharing is caring. I love it when things come together.
Congrats to our new winners..
Manually picked numbers amazing....This happens once in a blue moon...He/She must be extremely lucky
Perhaps this person has been picking their own numbers for years.. and losing. Then one day....Boom!
I agree...Boom!! That is why I kept plugging in the same numbers year after year after year!!
Congratulations to the team in Jersey!!!!!
How many total combinations did they buy?
They created their own combination instead of quick picks?
This leads me to believe the combination is known ahead of and all the powerball machine quick pick generators are set to not give out that combination.
I need to come up my set of numbers.
There has been 63 PB drawing since they change the number af balls.
There are 292,201,338 different combinations. meaning there are 292,201,275 combinations that have not been called.
I should have plenty to chose from.
Always pick your own #s in the words of Richard Lustig haha no but really if my 5 year old niece can pick 3 out of 5 then so can you I wouldnt leave ym fate in a qp's hands a qp is in addition.. I will win a jackpot one day
The government is already rubbing their grubby hands for their share. Which they blow throught in 5 seconds.
I always manually pic my numbers. I read the stats on this page and on another. I pick the more frequent falling numbers and that has brought me several types of wins.0+1, 3+0, 2+1 wins. Check Maddogs MM & PB Challenges. Congrats to the BIG TIME WINNERS!!
Big congrats to the winners. Get your ducks in order, then party!!
The vendor only gets 30K on a jackpot that large??? In Wisconsin supercash the jackpot is 350K and the vendor gets 7K for selling the ticket. Cheapskates!
Congratulations!
