Today's Quote
Truth does not become more true by virtue of the fact that the entire world agrees with it, nor less so even if the whole world disagrees with it.
-Maimonides
And how did we do in last night’s drawing? Here are the numbers from Friday Night’s drawing:
05 25 41 48 51 Mega Ball 35
We had the Mega Ball 35!
Matched | Prize | Date | Numbers Drawn (Mega Ball) |
0 of 5 + BB | $ 2 | 10/24/2006 | 5 - 25 - 41 - 48 - 51 (35) Megaplier 4X |
Since this is a megaplied game we won $2.00 x 4 = $8.00.
With the $15 dollars we got on the 1st drawing, we now have $23 in our bank.
I jack pot is not higher enough to entice me to buy the group more tickets, plus I didn’t have time to get more tickets.
The new Jack Pot amount for this Friday is worth $24 Million. The estimated cash value of this jackpot is $13,856,808.00.
I get the Cash Value from: www.ohiolottery.com. I take that figure and divide it by 60 (# of Shares). Here is want you would get before any attorney fees, taxes or tithes:
Number so Shares Purchased | Amount you Could Win |
.5 | $ 115,473.40 |
1 | $ 230,946.80 |
1.5 | $ 346,420.20 |
2 | $ 461,893.60 |
I told you that I would give you an update a membership list with this update. Remember there were two ½ shares unsold, ($10.00). I’ve talked with Mary Stewart and she told me that she mailed me several weeks ago a $10.00 check. So I’ve sold those two ½ shares to her. The corrected membership is attached, but like I told you, the shares nor the dollar amount changed.
I talked with Grant today; in fact we had lunch together. He advises me that he took all my mail from my old Post Office Box and re-mailed it to my new Post Office Box. As of today, I have gotten no mail at my new Post Office Box. I find that strange, especially, when I open my box, I see a card board that is blocking any mail from being delivered. I think the people in the back are unaware that that box has been sold.
I tried to talk with the people at the Post Office about it, but they were busy, and Grant was waiting from me in the car. My plans are to get up early in the morning, and visit the Post Office, when they open at 8:30 a.m. and hopefully take care of the problem before going to work.
We have two drawings in this game, and won something on both, so I’m please. I’m more please that no one has won the Jack Pot and it’s going up.
This next game is scheduled to open on Friday, November 24th, 2006. That is the day after Thanksgiving. I will NOT be at work on Thanksgiving or that Friday (Day after Thanksgiving) or that Saturday. I’m not even sure about Sunday.
For those of you who work at Citi, you only have 2 more paychecks to get in on the next game: October 31st and November 15th, 2006.
I’m attaching Game 29’s Membership list as a separated file. I already have 13 members with $155 collected.
Superstitions |
Superstitions, like most folklore, are sometimes useful, sometimes ridiculous, but always interesting. For example, did you know that you are in luck if a buzzard lands on your house on a Monday-you'll receive money soon. But don't cross a river on Monday -- that's unlucky. To avoid toothaches, never wash on a Tuesday. And to ensure a long life, don't rub soap on your skin on a Friday or get a haircut in March. But whatever you do, never sneeze on a Sunday, or the Devil will be with you all week. But do thank your lucky stars once in a while -- that's a sign of good fortune. Sincerely, |
*THE GOOD DEED*
There was a fellow who worked for the Post Office, whose job it was to process all the mail that had illegible addresses. One day a letter came to his desk, addressed in a shaky handwriting, to God.
He thought, "Oh boy, better open this one and see what it's all about."
The letter read:
"Dear God,
I am an 83 year old widow living on a very small pension. Yesterday someone stole my purse. It had $100.00 in it, which was all the money I had until my next pension check. Next Sunday is Christmas, and I had invited two of my friends over for dinner. Without that money, I have nothing to buy food with. I have no family to turn to, and you are my only hope. Can you please help me?"
The postal worker was touched, and went around showing the letter to all the others. Each of them dug into his wallet and came up with a few dollars.
By the time he made the rounds, he had collected $96.00, which they put into an envelope and sent over to the lady. The rest of the day, all the workers felt the warm glow of the kind thing they had done.
Christmas came and went. A few days later another letter addressed to God came from the old lady. All the workers gathered around while the letter was opened. It read:
"Dear God,
How can I ever thank you enough for what you did for me? Because of your gift of love I was able to fix a glorious dinner for my friends. We had a very nice day and I told my friends of your wonderful gift. By the way, there was $4 missing. I think it must have been those thieving guys at the Post Office.”
